Contrary to previous reports, Kim Chiu’s barkada—which is composed of Melissa Ricks, Erich Gonzales, Beauty Gonzales, Kitkat, and Empress or simply the “churigogobaschu”—wants to be a good influence on the youth rather than be known for picking fights with other girls. Kahit BBM, wala. Facebook lang,” she told ABS-CBN.com during the Kapamilya Trade Launch last June 10. They couldn’t be classified as party girls as well because the only activities that they love to do whenever they have a chance to see each other is to go shopping, play bowling, watch movies, or sing at videoke bars.
As a matter of fact, it was the churigogobaschu who encouraged Kim to go back to school this year. “Nag-usap-usap kami na sabay-sabay kaming mag-first year college para magka-classmates kami nila Melissa at Empress. So once a week lang ako papasok and binibigyan nila ako ng modules. Ngayon lang kasi ako bumalik after four years so fourth year high school muna ako ngayon.” Even though she’s really busy with her showbiz career, the 20-year-old realized that getting a formal education should also be included in her priorities.
Kim admitted that she’s a bit pressured to perform well in school since a lot of teens are look up to her. So dapat mag-aral ng mabuti.
If there’s anything she could advise her fellow youth today, Kim stressed that they shouldn’t take their studies for granted because it would help them secure a better future for themselves.
