All set to star in the Philippine adaption of the hit Koreanovela Only You, Diether Ocampo signed an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN last March 4. Although the actor declined to discuss the details of the contract, he admits he is happy to put rumors of transferring networks to rest. “Right now, it feels so very overwhelming kasi matagal-tagal ko din itong hinintay. Kasi madaming mga nangyari pero ang importante, maganda yung mga nakita nating resulta. Meron man tayong mga inaantay, maganda ang resulta so it’s worth the wait naman,” he admits.
Diether says he would rather move past the issues and concentrate on becoming active in showbiz again. “What’s important is that I remain a Kapamilya and you’ll be seeing more of me. I’ll be doing a lot of projects starting this year and sisimulan namin yan with this project with Angel Locsin and Sam Milby. We’re actually leaving for Korea in two weeks time,” he shares.
Aside from Only You, Diether also has more projects lined up for the year which he cannot disclose to the public just yet. The matinee idol says he is very content with ABS-CBN’s plans for him this year. “Siyempre, wala namang binibigay sa akin na hindi maganda eh. I’ve so many things to be thankful for and for me, ang importante nga, nandito na. Finally we sealed the deal and yun ang importante na nakita natin na mas madami na akong magagawang proyekto ngayon and I’m happy also kasi kasama ko yung iba kong kapamilya sa Star Magic and it’s not only me na nabibigyan ng magandang proyekto,” he explains.
Diether, who was last seen in the teleserye IisaPa Lamang last year, is very proud to be a loyal Kapamilya artist. “I think it’s about time that people should move forward. Look forward to seeing us do a lot more projects na dekalidad dahil alam naman nila na ‘pag gumawa ang ABS-CBN, talagang kaabang-abang dahil pinagbubuti naman namin lagi ang trabaho namin. Sa tagal ng ginawa naming training, hindi naman namin basta-bastang mararating kung nasan kami ngayon kung hindi naming pinaghirapan so talagang sulit yung paghihirap at pagtiya-tiyaga,” he stresses.
Aside from his new girlfriend, model Rema Lorza, plus a lot of new exciting acting projects, Diether said he’s feeling better than ever. “I’m great. Never better. I’m very happy. Sa ngayon siyempre, ganun naman eh, bina-balanse natin palagi ang buhay. Kung merong hindi magandang nangyari, may mga magaganda ding mangyayari. At this point, I guess andun ako sa parte ng buhay ko na parang I’m reaping all the hard work. Kumbaga ngayon pa lang nag-pe-pay off lahat. Dhahl\aaa nadadala naman talaga sa pagtiya-tiyaga,” he says.
Diether also talks about his loyal fans who have supported him through the years. “I’m very, very excited that I’ll be working again soon and I have something to offer again for the fans, especially doon sa mga loyalista. Marami kasing mga Pinoy, lalo na sa abroad at saka sa mga probinsya na nakaka-appreciate ng trabaho namin and for us kasi, it’s a huge responsibility dahil we’re really putting dedication in every project na ginagawa namin kasi we inspire a lot of people and what’s more important sa amin naman, as long as nakaka-pag inspire kami ng tao at nagugustuhan nila yung trabaho naming, yun yung mas nag-ma-matter sa amin, he says.
