Comedian Mura marks his return to ABS-CBN—his original home network—with what he considers his biggest kontrabida role ever, via the upcoming weekly TV series, Komiks Presents Mars Ravelo’s Tiny Tony.
For the next featured Mars Ravelo superhero, Mura plays Gil Gante, the evil midget scientist, who has the formula to shrink everything and everyone. Intent to defeat Tiny Tony (played by John Prats), the world’s smallest superhero, Gil Gante uses his serum to shrink his followers in order to easily track and beat Tiny Tony. “Binabagay rin nila ako kung saan bagay,” Mura said about the characters being given to him.
His being horizontally challenged actually became the comedian’s best asset to get substantial roles and effectively portray them.He has played Ninja, a half-turtle, half-human creature in ABS-CBN’s Marina back in 2004. He has also done four movies with Star Cinema, with the Vhong Navarro starrer Supahpapalicious being his last.
For a time, Mura worked for the rival network and has appeared in numerous primetime programs. With the opportunity to work with ABS-CBN again, Mura is of course very happy. Mura was discovered on ABS-CBN's defunct noontime show Magandang Tanghali Bayan.
Komiks Presents: Tiny Tony also stars Alex Gonzaga, Coco Martin, and Arron Villaflor and will premiere this October, replacing Varga.
